Thematic Search of Health Informatics Education

Description of workpackage:

The aim of this work package is to perform a coherent search and analysis of existing academic programs, courses and tracks on health and medical informatics regionally and internationally.

A comprehensive and systematic methodology will be developed to identify and select the relevant academic and training master programs around Health Informatics (HI) worldwide, in addition to information collected from EU partners who have rich experience and established academic programs in health/medical informatics. As HI master can have many different profiles, this WP will investigate which of these profiles is the best fit for each of the partner countries, this can be achieved via organization of focus group discussions on partner universities and industrial preferences and needs for the particular master profile.

Sharing of experiences on establishment of similar academic programs will be supported using an appropriate online tool to reach a wider group of stakeholders and experienced people. Recommendations of the structure, profile and forms for an academic program that fits the purpose of the partner universities will be formulated. This WP will review and report on the EU experience with teaching approaches methodologies, so to develop a curriculum that meet international standards.
